Make it Monday With Imelda - Scrapbook Process #7 *4 Feet

Hi Everyone!
Hope everyone had a very wonderful holiday season and a Happy New Year!! We had so much fun filled with family and laughter, just the way it should be! 💕

This new year, I am hoping to take some big steps in my life. In Canada it is becoming increasingly difficult to become a teacher, I have been applying for about 3 years. First you must work as an Occasional Teacher, (OT) then you must work as a Long Term Occasional, then, and only then can you get an interview for a permanent position.  For the past two years I have been working as an Educational Assistant and taking courses to expand my teaching skills. I was finally able to land an interview in November 2016 for the OT list. I am hoping to hear back soon.  Fingers crossed!

I have also made it my goal, to by the end of the year join a Design Team. I am in the process of applying to some and waiting for the DT call for others. Fingers crossed again!  This month I have been invited to be a Guest Designer over at Do-Al(l) Kreatives. The theme for the month is "New". We were asked to simply create a project that showcases something new about us. I chose to focus on our new dog and here is what I was able to come up with.☺. You can view the process video Here

I used mostly the Studio Calico December 2015 kit (yes I'm a hoarder and finally caved). I really loved the "hello" paper and am currently really enjoying the colour teal and mint! I especially love the contrast with pink! The title came from a quote I found on Pinterest, I used the grey alphas from the kit.

Other than the kit, I used some My Mind's Eye small phrases stickers in teal and pink, a small SMASH flag clip, which so appropriate for this layout and my journalling, was slightly chewed up by our new dog. I also used some Michaels enamel dots, white tissue paper, Heidi Swapp Colour Shine in Cherry Pink, and some Teal Colour mist from a previous Studio Calico Kit.

My journalling reads:
We inherited you from Uncle Jake over Easter dinner 2016. We were told you were very well behaved. They weren't completely wrong, but they weren't completely right either. Over the next few days we would discover your love of eating the kids' stuffed toys, with particular attention given to the eyes.  Since then however, you have learned so much. We have grown to love our perfectly imperfect little guy. You still enjoy chewing up anything left within your reach, remote controls included, but we absolutely love you. All your cuteness and love you have for us makes it all worth it.  December 2016

To type my journalling I used an old typewriter that I purchased online. In Canada we have an app called VarageSale - which essentially is a virtual garage sale. I really lucked out, since I got it before the Typecast typewriters became as popular as they are now.

Please check out the other beautiful projects by the Do-Al(l) Kreatives Design Team for January. Hope you find some inspiration among all the beautiful projects.

I wish you all a very happy start to this new year.
